“Putting on Christ is not one among many things a Christian has to do, and is not a sort of special exercise for the top of the class. It IS the whole of Christianity. Every Christian is to become a little Christ; the whole purpose of being a Christian is simply nothing else.”
~ C.S.L

WHAT IS AYM?

Australian Youth Missions (AYM) is a group of young people aged 12-36 from all over Australia . We are vibrant, contemporary Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ.

As our name suggests, our mission is about youth. AYM is a movement of Apostolic youth, working together across this great nation to encourage and support young people living their lives for Jesus Christ!

We are Bible loving, Apostolic Pentecostals. We are committed to bringing other people to a relationship with Jesus Christ and seek to display the fruit of the Spirit in our lives.

At both local and national level we are striving to work together to make a difference in this world. Through our local youth group, regional and national youth camps, AYM ministry team weekends, overseas missions trips, and a variety of other projects we have made it our mission to live for Jesus Christ with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength.

WHO ARE THESE PENTECOSTALS / APOSTOLICS?

The day of Pentecost was observed in Jerusalem fifty days after the celebration of the Passover, which commemorated Israel\'s deliverance out of Egypt.

It is significant that this day was chosen by the Lord to begin the fulfilment of Joel 2:28: I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh....

The day of Pentecost which took place in the first chapter of Acts marks the beginning of the first church. The experience of the Holy Ghost being poured out fulfilled the prophecies of the scriptures and brought the world into the dispensation of grace with God. Pentecost is the experience of that filling of the Holy Ghost, which began nearly 2000 years ago, and is continuing today wherever people will believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, receive Him as God and Saviour, and obey Him.

Since God desires to embrace and save every single person ever born, no matter what their background, race or religion, that promise is specifically for US today.

FOUNDATIONAL TRUTHS!

About the Bible: The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living.

About God : There is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man.

About Sin and Salvation: Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. As the Bible teaches, we believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works. Faith in Jesus is the means by which a person is justified. At the same time, a sinner must believe the gospel. They are commanded to repent of their sinful life, to be baptised in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues (Acts 2:38; 4:12; 8:12-17; 10:43-48; 19:1-6). Thus the various aspects of faith and obedience work together in God's grace to reconcile us to God.

About the Gospel: The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection).

About Christian Living: As Christians we are to love God and others. We should live a Holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God joyfully. We believe that God, who is holy, calls each of us into relationship with Him. This relationship with Him manifests itself in every aspect of our lives, including our families. As such, the UPCA stresses and supports the family unit as God's primary institution.

About the Future: Jesus Christ is coming again to catch away His church. In the end will be the final resurrection and the final judgment. The righteous will inherit eternal life, and the unrighteous eternal death.
